Stella Natura Biodynamic Gardening Talk

Since the beginning of agriculture, human beings have been arranging their planting dates and calendars by the rhythms of the moon, sun, planets, and stars. Creating planting calendars based on these rhythms and planetary influences has continued to this day. The Old Farmer’s Almanac, for example, is the oldest consistently published periodical in the Unites States, with its first edition in 1792.  While many older Almanacs are going out of print as their creative source becomes more and more remote, a new science of star wisdom based in modern natural scientific research has emerged, developing over the last 100 years through the practices and teachings of biodynamic agriculture and the work of Rudolf Steiner.  The Stella Natura Biodynamic Planting Calendar, produced here in Floyd at Spikenard Farm Honeybee Sanctuary, gives inspiration and practical advice for gardeners, professional growers, and anyone interested in working with cosmic rhythms and in harmony with the heavens, grounded here on Earth.  Join the Editor of the calendar, Alex Tuchman, for a talk to learn more about the fruits of this work and the exciting new developments in the science of planetary influences and their effects in the natural world.
