Roanoke local author Cameron Mackenzie will be coming for a reading and book signing.

Cameron Mackenzie’s novel, The Beginning of His Excellent and Eventful Career, chronicled the rise to power of Pancho Villa and was called “original. poignant, brutal and beautiful” by Kirkus Reviews. His work has appeared in Wigleaf, Salmagundi, Cleaver, Plume, Blackbird, Cutbank and The Michigan Quarterly Review. His work has also earned several Pushcart and Best Microfictions nominations. His short story collection, River Weather, was published in 2022 by Alternating Current Press, won their book of the year award and was a Booklife Editor’s Pick.
